Rachel H Kay Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you visit https://rachelhkay.com (the "Site").

PERSONAL INFORMATION I COLLECT

When you visit the "Site", I automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the "Site", I collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the "Site", and information about how you interact with the "Site". I refer to this automatically-collected information as "Device Information."

I collect Device Information using the following technologies:

- "Cookies" are data files that are placed on your device or computer and often include an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies are an industry standard and most major websites use them. You may refuse cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. For more information about cookies, and how to disable cookies, visit http://www.allaboutcookies.org.

- "Log files" track actions occurring on the "Site", and collect data including your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.

- "Web beacons," "tags," and "pixels" are electronic files used to record information about how you browse the "Site".

- The "Site" uses Hotjar in order to better understand the "Sites" users' needs and to optimize this service and experience. Hotjar is a technology service that helps to better understand a users experience (e.g. how much time they spend on which pages, which links they choose to click, what users do and don’t like, etc.) and this enables me to build and maintain my service with user feedback. Hotjar uses cookies and other technologies to collect data on the "Site" users' behavior and their devices (in particular device's IP address (captured and stored only in anonymized form), device screen size, device type (unique device identifiers), browser information, geographic location (country only), preferred language used to display the website). Hotjar stores this information in a pseudonymized user profile. Neither Hotjar nor I will ever use this information to identify individual users or to match it with further data on an individual user. For further details, please see Hotjar's privacy policy by clicking on this link.

You can opt-out to the creation of a user profile, Hotjar's storing of data about your usage of the "Site" and Hotjar's use of tracking cookies on other websites by following this opt-out link.

- The "Site" uses Google Analytics, a service which transmits website traffic data to Google servers. Google Analytics does not identify individual users or associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. I use reports provided by Google Analytics to help understand website traffic and web page usage on the "Site".

You can opt-out of Google Analytics data collection, if you don’t want your data collected with Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. This add-on instructs the Google Analytics JavaScript (ga.js, analytics.js, and dc.js) running on the "Site" and other websites to prohibit sending information to Google Analytics.

To opt-out of Analytics for the web, visit the Google Analytics opt-out page and install the add-on for your browser. For more details on installing and uninstalling the add-on, please see the relevant help resources for your specific browser.

Updates to your browser or operating system may affect the functionality of the opt-out add-on. Learn about managing add-ons for Chrome here. If you are not using Chrome, check directly with the manufacturer of your browser to determine whether add-ons will function properly on the browser version that you are using.

The latest versions of Internet Explorer sometimes load the Google Analytics opt-out add-on after sending data to Google Analytics. Therefore, if you are using Internet Explorer, the add-on will set cookies on your computer. These cookies ensure that any collected data is immediately deleted from the collection server. Please make sure that third party cookies aren't disabled for your Internet Explorer browser. If you delete your cookies, the add-on will, within a short timeframe, reset these cookies to ensure that your Google Analytics browser add-on remains fully functional.

The Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on does not prevent data from being sent to the "Site" itself or in other ways to web analytics services.
